Restore & Live Whole Retreat September 2023
The Magic of Retreats: Reflections from the Restore & Live Whole Weekend
Last weekend, I had the honor of hosting a beautiful circle of souls at Lincoln Way Inn for the Restore & Live Whole Retreat. Each person brought their own unique energy, experiences, and stories. Together, we said, “Yes” to stepping away from our busy lives and reconnecting with ourselves in a deep and meaningful way.
We paused. We rested. We realigned with our souls.
In a world that constantly pushes us to keep going—to do more, be more, care for everyone around us—it’s easy to lose touch with our inner selves, our chi, our prana. After years of constant “doing,” we often feel depleted, unsure of our path, and disconnected from our own hearts.
This weekend was a much-needed sacred pause.
A Weekend of Connection, Nourishment, and Realignment
Over four days, we created space to breathe, move, and reconnect. The lovingly prepared farm-to-table meals nourished us, while daily yoga to inspiring music helped us open up and release tension. Each morning, we took peaceful nature hikes, feeling the Earth beneath our feet, and even had the chance to spot buffalos in the distance.
Throughout the retreat, we participated in gentle movement practices—from yoga to mindful stretching—that allowed our energy to flow freely again. We slowed down, listened to our bodies, and reconnected with the joy of simply being present. We picked apples, learned about bees and honey, and spent time soaking in the beauty of the land around us.
The guided meditations helped quiet our busy minds, giving us the space to hear the softer, wiser voice within. In the evenings, we gathered around the fire for fireside chats—listening deeply, sharing openly, and holding space for one another’s truths. These moments of connection were magical, reminding us of the power of community and authentic support.
Healing and Wholeness
One of the most powerful parts of the retreat was our time spent in ceremony. Through intentional rituals, we reconnected with forgotten parts of ourselves, calling back the pieces we had neglected. The Sound/Gong Bath was a healing experience that allowed vibrations to release any stuck energy, leaving us feeling lighter and more aligned.
Many of us took part in optional intuitive coaching or Reiki sessions, where we received personal guidance and energy realignment. These moments of stillness and reflection helped us gain clarity on what we needed to feel whole again.
Together, we laughed, cried, created art, and shared our insights. We reclaimed our stories and created a mandala of wholeness, offering prayers for all beings to be happy and free.
Gratitude and Reflections
As I look back on this weekend, I feel immense gratitude for each soul who joined this retreat. The love, openness, and courage each of you brought into the circle made this a truly unforgettable experience.
We may have come from different walks of life, but together, we found common ground. We shared moments of joy and insight that will stay with us long after the retreat ended.
To everyone who came: Thank you for your presence, your light, and your truth. It was an honor to walk this path with you. I hope you continue to nourish your body, mind, and soul, and that you carry the lessons and connections from this retreat with you as you move forward.
This weekend was a gift to all of us. A chance to slow down, reconnect, and remember what it feels like to be whole. I’m forever grateful for each of you and can’t wait for the next time we gather in sacred space together.
